The Our Savior unit of the Women of the ELCA meets monthly for Bible study based on material published in the Lutheran Woman Today magazine.  Studies for this year are:                  

Next Meeting, November 17 at the home of Linda Isaacs, 6604 Penny Lane.

The unit is very active both in the cluster (Tulsa area) and synod (AR/OK), with two local women on the 2003 Arkansas/Oklahoma synod board. 

Special projects of the unit include:

·        Scholarship Fund (financed by sale of horseshoe nail crosses)

·        Scholarships for delegates and others to A/OK Synod Assembly

·        Triennial national convention scholarships...enabled several women to go to the Minneapolis, St. Louis, and Philadelphia conventions

·        Bible camp scholarships for girls of OSLC

·        Banners made for Our Savior and for A/OK synod events.

·        Thank Offering service and brunch each August. 

·        Annual Christmas cookie exchange

·        "Care" packages to college students during exam week.

Our Savior Women of the ELCA is an active member of Church Women United, which sponsors World Day of Prayer, May Fellowship Day, World Community Day, an annual meeting with a Christmas tea, and a Create for Mission Day as well as many ongoing projects, including an annual Mother/Child Retreat, scholarships for Tri-County Tech students, sponsorship of International Women's Club, Bible studies, and many others. Our Savior will host the December annual meeting and Christmas tea.

Current president of Our Savior Women of the ELCA is Kathie Roper at 333-8487.  Meetings are usually at 7 p.m. at the church on the 3rd Thursday of each month, but meeting date is subject to change.  All women are invited!
